Christmas light displays have been a long time tradition for many families. Fortunately for us, Houston and the surrounding cities have so many options to make memories. Here’s a list of great options to load up the family in the car, pack some hot chocolate and crank up the radio with Christmas music!
Prestonwood Forest
Hundreds of visitors drive through Prestonwood Forest for their amazing Christmas light displays of holiday cheer. The neighbors all get involved and even have a contest on who has the best yard. Prestonwood Forest is just off Highway 249, just north of Willowbrook Mall. I can’t help but wonder what their light bill is during the Christmas holiday ha-ha!
Green Tee Terrace
For as long as I can remember, Green Tee Terrace has always had spectacular Christmas light displays. I feel like as a child, my family would stroll through this neighborhood. There’s dozens of homes to see! This neighborhood is located in Pearland, TX. Just talking about it makes me want to load the family up!
River Oaks
River Oaks neighborhood doesn’t mess around when it comes to the Christmas spirit and decorating. These homeowners call in the professionals and they go ALL OUT. Some of the most elaborate displays I’ve ever seen were on River Oaks Boulevard and Inwood Drive. They really set the bar high and strolling down the street in River Oaks will never get old. Am I the only that thinks of things like…. how many strands of lights are used at one house? How much does one family spend to have them installed? I can only imagine………..
Magical Winter Lights
Magical Winter Lights is located in La Marque and each year they have themes that they get their inspiration from to decorate. It’s situated on 20 acres and runs for 52 days straight, being open 7 days a week. It’s a larger than life festival where you and your family can walk through and take in all the beautiful lights. They have lantern attractions, games to play, carnival rides and more. If you’ve got little ones that have a hard time sitting still in the car, this is the place to go. You can purchase tickets here.
The Gullo House in Magnolia
Props to Mr Gullo and his family for putting on such a fun display! Every year Tony, the owner of Gullo Auto Dealerships, turns his home into a wonderland display. This 5 acre phenomenon is a must see. Mr. Gullo himself even dresses up as Santa Claus! Be sure to hit up Old Hockley Road in Magnolia and shake Santas hand for a job well done.
Christmas Light Displays Are Endless
There’s many more options to load the family up for, but these are some of my favorites. If I’ve missed somewhere that I must see, be sure to let me know. The options are really endless. Your children will love any place you decide to go, but I hope y0u find this list helpful.
